Un personnage qui m’avait beaucoup touchée dans la première saison, avec son amour à sens unique tragique, et sa comédienne de doublage américaine Kimberly Brooks, que j’aime beaucoup (Ashley Williams dans Mass Effect). La retrouver dans la saison 2 a été une belle surprise.

In a moment of weakness (actually a number of consecutive hours of weakness), I ignored what I ought to have been doing to draw another devil-woman / tiefling character.

Nothing special, but I perhaps went a little overboard with the hair again. Such volume has not existed in reality since the '80s I suspect.

Is it possible to have too much hair?

What started as a way to share a cool moment of nature and machine when I couldn't get a photograph is becoming a surreal exploration.

Thanks to @loren asking for a crawdad I started thinking about what other things (besides birds) could be caught admiring their reflection in my car's side mirror.

Now I'm on to VW Kaiser, thought up while on another errand, waiting for my passenger.

Here's the second conceptual editorial assignment for @mk.ateliers by Leonie Bos in the series I'm sharing this week.

Another mockup briefing, for an article by Pieter Hemels for Management Scope magazine about translating intangible social and environmental values into comparable monetary figures. Can the value of companies be measured by more than just the financial bottom line? Yes, not all assignments are lions and roses! 😂😅

Again, there's two different variants: one with a more minimalistic/graphic approach, the second one with a bit more of a scene.

Personally, even though I still like the underlying idea, I found the second illustration a bit too 'cartoony'. But again, learning and improving as an illustrator comes with making a lot of stuff that you may not be happy about, but that's ok. With every drawing and every finished illustration I feel I'm coming closer to finding my voice and style as an illustrator.

Petite évolution dans mon illustration…

J’ai repensé la tenue de mon personnage : elle est devenue une robe-armure légère, plus en accord avec ce qu’elle traverse, ce qu’elle exprime.
Quelque chose de plus libre, plus symbolique aussi, entre danse et lumière. 🩰
