Today I finally went out for my first post surgery run.
I was able to enjoy the sun that came out in the afternoon while focusing on keeping it a really easy run. I had no problems during the run, just enjoyed it.

It's only been 18 months this month since I started running again in October 2023 after a 33 year break, but it feels like I've been running again for many years now.

A brief #running update: stitches are out of my hand, and the doc said things are healing nicely. No longer required to keep it bandaged throughout the day unless I'm doing something particularly dirty or infectious. His advice from last time still applies: "you can run as long as you don't fall" 
(I'm avoiding the trails until it's truly healed up, just to be certain)

Strava also recorded a PR with time 3:25:52 -- this was ~6min reduction from my previous PR. As expected, mile-20 killed me with a long climb on the bridge: I strategically walked a few times and it paid off. Alphafly 3 served me well w/ no issues.
I'm pretty happy w/ the result: was expecting just under 3:30 with this EG (~800ft)! I'm now much closer to BQ time 3:20:00, and my next #marathon #race will be the crazy 220-laps around #UW #Drumheller in June -- hey but it's flat!

#MillTown #Marathon #race is done today! My chip time was 3:24:01 pace 7'47"/mi, and was 9th place out of 130, and the first in my age/gender division! I ran this same course last year as my first-ever marathon race, and this time I shaved off 27 minutes!
(no I didn't wear crocs in the race -- the photo was taken afterwards)
(the box of drink is my award for #1 in the division)
After a weekend spent taking care of others it was time to vent off and get a few km of rainy city in the book.
Teen stayed home, being a little sick.
Manage a regular 6.1 pace which his quite fast for my standard.
Also 170 steps/min
And 150bpm average

And almost 0 EG

Je me suis rendu jusqu'au sommet pour la première fois cette saison (183 m de montée). Aucune floraison printanière en vue. Que la #joie de courir au soleil. 
Séance du 13 avril – total 20 km :
– 6,01 km de course (tapis)
– 1510 marches / 100 étages
– 13,76 km de vélo (dont 5 min de récup)
Temps total d'effort : environ 1h45
Objectif : cardio, endurance, ancrage mental.
