New Zealand media group Stuff has decided to run one photo from Gaza every day to remind readers that Israel's genocide continues. (Stuff didn't use that word).
Today's photo is pretty passive given Israel bombed another hospital and killed three more journalists overnight. But it's a start.

In NZ media news, TradeMe has agreed to take a 50% stake in Stuff Digital.
"Under the agreement, Stuff's property section will become TradeMe Property branded, with listings, ads and some content shared across both platforms."

Predictably Damien Grant places himself on the wrong side of history. The headline of his opinion piece in Stuff reads: "Brooke Van Velden is one of a handful of ministers directly combatting NZ’s decline, writes Damien Grant"
Note this line at the bottom of the story.

How can anyone say NZ news media have a left bias when The Post is publishing political "analysis" pieces by Luke Malpass, which read like a series of NatACT talking points.

It's happened. Stuff is using AI to write stories -- viz. a Southland Times piece called "What the Census tells us about Southlanders".
At the bottom of the page there's this line: "This article was compiled with the help of the Perplexity AI tool."
While AI may be good at regurgitating boring stats, how come the photographs of the two people are AI-generated. WTF?
It's 2025 & the enshitiffication of NZ's media is well underway.
