Anybody know where I can find a reflective lcd screen that is readable in sun light? Like the one that #Beepy uses.

I want to build a #writerdeck / #cyberdeck with a raspberry pi and a screen that works in sun light. I had a look on e-ink displays but it seems like drivers to use them as primary monitor doesn't exist (or I couldn't find them at least).

Or if there is a place to buy a complete Beepy or similar?

Any suggestions are welcome!

Excited to do some more work with the Beepy I've borrowed from a friend. Continuing the goal of having a more phone-like ecosystem for it, I'm going to continue making rich/textualize TUIs for services and utils. First up - Network Manager.

Why do all the stock photos of the #SQFMI #Beepy have the keyboard blurred out? Are they using some keyboard they’re not allowed to? Did they change keyboards since they took the stock photos?

Found this snap fit 3d printed case model for the #Beepy just now. Might be worth a try if you don't want to bother with specialty nuts and bolts.

Another thing I found is this battery script for showing a more accurate and useful battery level. However, it appears to require a firmware update that exposes /sys/firmware/beepberry/battery_raw

#Beepy folks, have you tried updating your keyboard firmware? It is not a new release but the firmware binary says it was updated yesterday. I'm wondering if it fixes some of the issues people were having with the previous update? I'm scared to try it though because mine is working fine LOL.
