The lemur wanted to join in with silly summer hatting, although with a more serious, moody hatting manner than most, obviously.

Eventually, harmony was found.
Both had their space.
Both had their sacks.
Every human watching declared them to be adorable, as was right & proper

The youngster was having none of it.
It moved on too, finding a new nearby spot with its own sack. WIN!
Many shenanigans with the sack ensued, not all of them successful.
The adult watched.

Going to finish the zoo thread with a mini orangutan photo story.
There was a young ape who clambered up to an adult one, despite slight vibes of "I am up here for some peace and quiet".
The adult grabbed its sack (not a euphemism) & moved on, found a new spot & pulled the sack on as a cape.

Nearly done now, promise, but couldn't not post the ring tailed lemur. Such a beauty.

I caught the giraffes at their meal time and they pulled far too many EXCELLENT expressions for me to choose between.

Giraffes are always unexpectedly pleasing when I see them in person. They have such expressive faces. Look how happy this one seems to be to have their photo taken.

- Hey, so you went to Chester zoo. They have a greater one-horned rhino there don't they? Did you get a photo?
- Oh. Yes. Well, sort of.
- What do you mean, sort of?
Starting the day with another nibbly animal, a capybara this time, in cooling-mud-bath mode.

Right I'm off to channel my inner orangutan, and gaze thoughtfully into the distance while nibbling some supper before heading off to bed. Sleep well all
16 /n (probably more tomorrow, but nearly done now, honest)
Have I mentioned how great the orangutans were? I might have mentioned how great the orangutans were.
But still. ORANGUTAN!

Spent a while watching the spider monkeys, in particular this and another adult with a wee baby one. They were adorable, and funny, and I didn't get any great pics because I was too busy enjoying their escapades. Thought I'd cheer this one up with a sparkly tiara. Didn't work.
Continue to like the Victoria Crowned Pigeon very much indeed, even though this one kept blocking the path in front of me.

Everything in the reptile house was looking at me a little suspiciously. I have no idea why.

Ahh. Friday evening. Drinking gin. Sorting through photos. Trying to work out, in an increasingly exasperated manner, what kind of chameleon is looking at me very suspiciously, when they look different in EVERY SINGLE ONLINE PHOTO
My information says it's possibly a Parson's Chameleon but if they had others it could be one of them. A funky creature, whatever. If you definitely know what type it is, please let us know in the replies.

Heading off for the evening and leaving something a little more soothing than a staring reptilian predator. The splendid humboldt penguin having a swim before teatime. Look at 'em go
Sleep well all

have a look at #ChesterZooTrip today from @eclectech

Anyhow, the sunda gharial is a freshwater crocodilian and it is awesome.

We were sitting watching some turtles and fish swim about, all mellow and chilled, when we noticed some large legs in the distance. How can we not have seen them before? We move our heads up above the surface of the water, and are suddenly troubled.
