#DeJoy, a fmr #Trump donor who assumed his role in Jan 2020, has faced criticism & calls to step down from #Democrats — including this week from Sen #JonOssoff (D-GA), who said operational delays in the state “reflected the incompetent leadership & the incompetent management of the postmaster general himself.”

But Trump also recently alleged in a social media post that it was “not possible” to trust the #USPS to process #election mail.

#DeJoy defends #USPS readiness to handle mail-in ballots

Postmaster General DeJoy defended the Postal Service’s readiness for a spike in #election-related #mail, including #MailInBallots & other political mail, amid concerns from both parties that the agency is not prepared.

In a call w/reporters Thurs, DeJoy cited an Office of Inspector General report showing that the USPS processed between 97.01 & 98.17% of political & election mail on time between Dec 1, 2023, & April 30.
