Mon imprimante Epson n'a pas d'écran pour lui dire à quel wifi parler afin de pouvoir imprimer par les airs. Bien que non documenté par le constructeur, c'est possible de faire ce paramétrage du réseau wifi sans installer d'application.

Alors… un petit tuto pour enrichir le web de cette information ?

hackriculture.frRaccorder une imprimante Epson sans écran au wifi, sans applicationCertaines imprimantes Epson sont capables de fonctionner au travers du réseau wifi d'une box/routeur (réseau local). Une partie d'entre elles ne possède pas d'écran. Il est alors impossible de paramétrer l'imprimante via ses boutons physiques (sélection du réseau wifi, saisie du mot de passe wifi). Epson suggère d'installer une application Windows/Mac/Android pour faire le paramétrage depuis un ordinateur ou ordiphone. Sous Linux, l'application n'existe pas. On peut aussi simplement souhaiter ne pas installer une application de plus… Bien que cela ne soit pas documenté, il est possible de paramétrer l'imprimante sur le réseau wifi de son routeur/box sans installer d'application : en utilisant le wifi-direct et l'interface web d'administration de l'imprimante. Voici la procédure en détail. Les manipulations décrites peuvent être faites depuis n'importe quel ordinateur/smartphone.

I’ve learned yesterday that #Epson is a #ransomware group. No less.
They use #malware that degrade users computers in order to extort money.

On a Windows computer with Epson software package installed, the software will intentionally degrade the printing quality if it detects non-Epson ink cartridges in the printer. The degradation is so blatant that the output is unusable.

If you remove all Epson software, Windows will happily use its own driver and the output is perfect.

side by side, a printer test page from a Windows PC running Epson software and same page from same PC after removal of every Epson software. First output in mangled, mimicking a printing defect that Epson wishes users will blame third-party cartridges for. Second output if flawless, proving third-party cartridges work great.

Noooooo! It still doesn't work on the production machine. Same workflow works on the bare bones newly set up machine. OK, I guess that's why there is some discussion of it but not a whole lot. Somehow Lightroom is not seeing the ICC profiles on the production machine, same version sees them on the other machine, same OS version.

OK, for anyone following along, the answer was to update the OS.

With Apple these days I try to avoid any new major OS version because of new bugs, but in this case it seems to have fixed an old bug.

At least this works from a different machine I updated to Sequoia, perfect color management. The long Sonoma nightmare is about to be over, and I'll be printing without cursing again.

I know whatI’m doing, or trying to do, by the way. I’ve used this printer a whole lot and have a well established workflow from #Lightroom. Just recently (Sonoma) things have gone south.

There are a few threads on Adobe forums of others with this problem, so it’s not just me. Just that answers workarounds are rare.

Try Qimage? Get a cheap Windows machine to print?

Printing photos to a large pro Epson printer, Surecolor P7000. #Mac, #Sonoma. Photoshop, Lightroom, latest. Epson printer driver: latest (13.x)

Trying to color manage using ICC profiles, color is all off. It may be #Apple #Epson and not Adobe here. The color profile seems not to be used. “Printer Manages Color” gives ballpark results, Using ICC profile is way off

Update to #Sonoma? Drop a machine back to Monterey?

Die #Sublimationsdrucker von #Sawgrass und deren Software sind gerade richtig am Arsch. #Serverprobleme, #Verbindubgsabbrüche zwischen Software und Drucker, die Farbprofile funktionieren nicht.

Fragen zu Problemen und konstruktive #Kritik werden sofort aus den Forum von Sawgrass gelöscht, erstellte Tickets ignoriert, es wird nicht auf E-Mails geantwortet.

Schade! Dann kommt der nächste Drucker eben von #EPSON. Der ET-15000 soll ja ein glattes Wunderding zusammen mit Sublimationstinte sein.
