I hope that the Trump administration's cancellations of the Orion crew capsule (for which Europe built the Service Module) and the early de-orbiting of the ISS is a strong wake-up call that ESA's space program can no longer rely on promises from NASA.

Grateful for Hélène Huby's foresight to leave Airbus when she was VP of Orion-#ESM to develop European space capsules that don't rely on the US honouring their commitments.

Enable ESM in Ubuntu 20.04 LTS to Continue Getting Updates

Time is nearly up on support for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, with standard software, bug fix and security updates coming to an end on May 29, 2025. Users on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS should consider upgrading to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (or newer) if possible, but if unable should enable Extended Support Maintenance (ESM) as soon as possible in order to continue receiving critical security patches. ESM for Ubuntu provides “10 years of vulnerability management for critical, high and selected medium [security issues] for all software packages shipped with Ubuntu.” Enabling ESM is a bit of a no-brainer since it’s free for regular :sys_more_orange:

#Pack11ty now uses @eleventy v3

Also, the code has been fully rewritten to integrate modern JavaScript features like ECMAScript Modules (aka #ESM), just like #Eleventy.

Both the plugin and the template repository (aka Eleventy Starter) have been updated.

Also, the assets are now processed with a combination of Eleventy's Custom template languages, Render plugin and Bundle plugin. 😍

The documentation will soon be updated accordingly.

Pack11ty · Pack11ty now uses Eleventy v3 — Pack11tyBig Pack11ty update with Eleventy v3 and modernized code base!

If you’re running a relatively recent version of Node.js – I’m on 22.x for Kitten¹ at the moment– and you use ES Modules (because, of course, you use ES Modules, right, because it’s almost 2025…) and you want to use .js extensions and not have to litter package.json files with "type": "module" all over the place, you can start Node with the following flag and it should Just Work™ ;)

My photography site is now built with @eleventy v3, all JavaScript code is migrated to #ESM, and common features I use in all my Eleventy project are now provided by the #Pack11ty plugin.

Doesn't “3,632 additions and 23,478 deletions” sound like a big improvement?

Much less specific code to maintain in the future! 🥳

Looks like I finaly managed to migrate #Pack11ty, my plugin and template/starter for @eleventy to v3! 🥳

Including replacing all CJS with #ESM, the most difficult part.

Log periodic antennas are wide-band directional devices, suitable for signal hunting or simply wide-band communication. Their gain isn’t impressive, this one is rated to about 6dBi, that’s the price you pay for bandwidth.

The commercially made are really expensive, literally an order of magnitude above this eBay unit which was about 60$. But I suspect they have a similar PCB inside anyway 😂🤷🏼‍♂️

So how well does this unit perform? My #nanovna_v2 cuts off at 4GHz but starting at about 700MHz, it surely delivers a reasonable match below SWR 1:2 (620MHz for SWR 1:3)

I’ll have to bring it to the lab at work to test the upper frequency limit 🙂 For now, let’s go signal hunting! 😎
