A polka dot begonia grown tall and spindly, nestled in the corner of a large picture window. The plant is reddish hued with long spade-like leaves that have white spots on them. At the very top of the stem, there is a cluster of small white flowers.

A staircase with ornate iron railings descends into a lush garden, with large, circular windows framing a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean coastline. The bright blue sky and distant mountains are visible through the windows, while palm trees and carefully manicured greenery surround the area. The walls are painted in soft pastel pink tones, and the floor is made of polished marble.

Openings in a tiny local castle for #FensterFreitag. The owner rarely lets people in, so it's always a treat to visit.

A late medieval wall built from a patchwork of different stones and techniques with aged and oartially missing windows and a door at 10m height leading into thin air (the wooden extension house it opened into gone for 150 years)

Defensive corridor with several alcoves and observation windows. The orange artifical lighting is a nice contrast and helps navigating that narrow thing, but makes historical reality hard to judge.

A photograph of the dark interior of a room with a view through a window into a bright summer day. The room is underexposed and almost black, but the light coming through the window and its yellow curtains shines upon an old wooden couch with striped red-and-white upholstery, a matching chair and a wooden table with a red table runner. The table also has two two metal candleholders sitting in the shade.

Almost completely obscured by shadow and probably only visible on a desktop monitor, a chandelier is hanging from the ceiling above the table, just to the left of the window. Below it all, a strip of bare, wooden floor is lit up by the sun. The stark shadows were totally intentional and not at all a result of me forgetting to compensate the light meter's exposure for backlighting.

It's a window washing day and that means I have to say good bye to the K8's nose prints on her favorite window. This was from a couple years ago in April, where she was admiring the cherry tree in the front yard.

K8, our late German Shepherd is at the window looking outside, at me. There's a reflection of blooming weeping cherry blossoms.
