#HyperNormalisation is not an easy #film to watch but I still recommend it IF you have that "nothing ever changes, why??" feeling. The system is fucking broken, indeed.
It paints a very compelling picture and has a very convincing message yet at the same time manages to be all over the place. Wild.

What I was trying to say was: maybe we can at least try and break through this, by trying to have real conversations with neighbours and friends; and that could be a start for finding new ways. IDK.

Ihre Proponenten selber scheinen gerade von diesem "epistemischen Chaos" mehr zu profitieren, als wenn sie sich die Mühe machten, ein in sich kohärentes Worldbuilding zu betreiben. Das Netz der Lügen ist nicht einfach ein Gegenbild zum Netz der Wahrheiten, sondern die tiefe Überzeugung, dass es keine Netze gibt: wenn alles mit allem zusammenhängt, leben wir im postfaktischen Zeitalter in einer Schaumwelt.

Why? China would obviously lose in a naval war, which is why they haven't started one. They would just as obviously win if the US tried a ground invasion, just like Japan did. Which is why they tried to make peace through trade.

Yes, the escalatory nature of #USA foreign policy seems to go back quite far, and we see it repeated over and over because it serves the #weaponsIndustry
Adam Curtis' documentary, #Hypernormalisation (which we don't agree with the innuendo aimed at Russia in) seemed to put a lot of the blame on #HenryKissinger, which is probably correct, but we wonder if every president since #JFK has been a meat puppet.

For those of you wondering why #ElonMusk would gleefully piss away billions just to destroy his investment I highly recommend any (and all) of #AdamCurtis’s recent documentaries: #HyperNormalisation (2016), #CantGetYouOutOfMyHead (2021), and Russia 1985-1999: #TraumaZone (2022). You can find all of them on YouTube or (probably) through the BBC.
