The leaves of the resurrection lilies (Lycoris squamigera) are also starting to emerge, though flowers will not appear until midsummer, well after the foliage has died (hence the common name).

Resurrection lily (Lycoris squamigera), replanted in my garden from my grandfather's after his passing 14 years ago, has bloomed. Each year when the flowers appear in midsummer, they remind me of my grandfather and how he taught me his love of gardening.
