Truly thankful for the comments that helped reduce this in scope to something that fits into existing #PHP. No BC issues, and it fully leaves room for other people to iterate on it for additions.
I wish we could have gotten that implementation and proposal out of the door initially to avoid a lot of back and forth. But language design is hard, so many eyes help
Thank you :)

New in PHP 8.5: Marking Return Values as Important
Today, we'll explore one of the exciting features coming with PHP 8.5—the new #[NoDiscard] attribute to indicate important return values.https://chrastecky.dev/programming/new-in-php-8-5-marking-return-values-as-important
Sometimes I wonder whether we reached a point in the #PHP development where a "preprocessor" would help to cater for specific demands from different "fractions" of developers...
The "less characters are good" type could then write "phpx" files that get converted (and cached) to php files before execution.
similar one could write functional code in "phpf" files....
And like symfony generates a lot of code from the written code some tool could then generate PHP-code from these special files...
My employer, after 7 months of work, fired me overnight. Because I would be too "finicky" about code quality and security risks, which would better suit "a bank or cybersecurity company".
So I'm again #lookingForJob, either at #Montpellier (France) or #fullRemote. I am a #fullStack #developer with almost 10 years of experience on #php, #symfony, #html, #css, #javascript (#jquery and I'm also learning #vue). I am fluent in English, both written and spoken.
