I'll never forget watching [Israeli police] beating down her funeral procession. Even in her death, she had no peace, and at that time, nobody knew who the shooter was, and it was always said to by the Israeli government that it was obviously Palestinians, and many knew that to not be true [because] she was so revered, and that was when everything started for me."

● Viernes 21 Jornada de Puertas Abiertas del club Vallecas Rugby Unión. Conoce el Rugby Touch (sin contacto) y vive de primera mano este deporte. De 19 a 21h en el Campo de Rugby Los Arbolitos.

● Sábado 22 IX Encuentro Nacional de Bolillos de Villa de Vallecas. Un año más, siguiendo la tradición, tejedoras y tejedores de encaje disfrutaran de su afición en el Paseo de Federico García Lorca de 10 a 14h.

● Sábado 22 Inauguración de la Biblioteca Violeta en la Casa de las Mujeres de Vallekas en la C/ Diligencia con C/ Volver a Empezar. El acto de inauguración comenzará a las 12h y contará con la presencia de la escritora Mónica Rodríguez y la narradora Susi Posilio. Más información en el cartel de este evento.

● Sábado 22 la asociación Foro de Cultura Pueblo de Vallecas celebra el Día del Libro convocando al vecindario a participar en una lectura continuada de cuentos para celebrar este día. Más de un centenar de obras de grandes autores para todas las edades. El evento comenzará a las 12h.

Actividades para este fin de semana en Vallecas (Parte 2/2)

● Sábado 22 Jornada "Uniendo barrios, derribando fronteras y regenerando la ciudad desde la colaboración entre vecinas/os" una jornada para derribar fronteras, conocer experiencias y aprender que se puede cambiar la ciudad desde el vecindario. A las 11h en el local de la AV Puente de Vallecas San Diego.

También podremos ver la exposición “Estableciendo Puentes” de los alumnos de la UPM.

● Sábado 22 Nuestras vecinas de la Asociación de Vecinas de la Paz de Entrevías tienen cedido un pequeño terreno dentro del parque de Arbolitos y han creado el "Huerto Comunitario Entrevías". Aquellas personas que quieran colaborar, cultivar y aprender en este espacio, pueden acudir a las 11h.

● Domingo 23 XVII Certamen de Pintura Rápida al aire libre de Villa de Vallecas 'Escuela de Vallecas'. Todas aquellas personas que quieran participar deben inscribirse en el Centro Socio Cultural Francisco Fatou (C/ Manuel Vélez 10) de 8:30h a 9:30h. Más información y bases en el cartel del certamen.

● Domingo 23 Día de la Tortilla en el Ensanche de Vallecas. El vecindario celebra esta fiesta popular culinaria en el Bulevar de la Naturaleza a las 13:30h, disfrutando de este manjar, compartiendo mesa y haciendo nuevas amistades.

Aunque el festejo se celebra en distintas fechas (según cada municipio), para este festejo se toma como referencia el 25 de Abril, Día de San Marcos, por lo que se intenta celebrar en el fin de semana anterior, para intentar que participe el mayor número de personas. Organiza la AV PAU del Ensanche de Vallecas.
