I for one really enjoy Dolby Atmos music...
The biggest barrier to it though is how the tracks have been optimised for the format.
- The best are faithful to the original stereo tracks, and yet add a much wider presence with subtle touches that surround you and a clear focus of the individual instruments
- The worst are the ones where the main vocal is diminished in a reverb mess

Woo-hoo, an #Immersive Blackhole Reverb from Eventide! I believe this #plugin is rather interesting and we see the trend of new #Tools going further to spatial sound. Which is understandable...even Apple Music now pays more to artists who #Release #spatialaudio in their store.

I'm looking at #DolbyAtmos music production with an actual 7.1.2 speaker setup and it looks like not only cost is unacceptable for bedroom producers, and the space requirements are rather ridiculous, but also there isn't even a clear answer to "what audio interface and monitors to buy?".
So looks like the only option for hobbyists like me is to get #Apple AirPods Max and simulate the environment with its head tracking capabilities and Logic Pro.

I found it distracting.” Her “knee-jerk reaction was ‘do not want,’” she said. “But over time I may learn to like it.”
James Bond song "Live and Let Die" by Paul McCartney and the Wings is now in Dolby Atmos spatial audio!
Certainly going to have to give this a listen later.

Happy The Dark Side of the Moon 50th anniversary day! It’s time to listen to it with Spatial Audio, finally. I have had the SACD version for decades, but I’ve never had the equipment to listen to it. The sound should be somewhat similar.

It does the spatialisation very well, as much as is possible with non-surround sound, anyway.

@parunk Yes, it’s amazing they manage it! There are still some benefits to using a lossless playback format though since some of the processing (e.g. EQ, #SpatialAudio) is done on the connected device, which can take advantage of the extra resolution before compressing the audio to send to AirPods.
