I'd stalled previously part way through episode 1, but I'm now gripped.</p><p>Episode 4, which goes into Sofia Falcone's past is a brutal portrayal of how much power the ultra-rich have in a corrupt society to disappear anyone they find inconvenient.</p><p>It's particularly frightening in a world where our societies expand incarceration and pay less and less lip-service to due process.</p>

Recomendable.</p><p>Nunca pensé que vería una buena actuación de Colin Farrell, pero la verdad es que como el Pingüino lo borda, más incluso que en "The Batman", se ve que ha tenido más tiempo para fundirse con el personaje. Ged Maheux<p>After having watched and enjoyed <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ThePenguin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ThePenguin</span></a> I have now (finally) watched The Batman. It was great and I think I enjoyed it more than any of the Christian Bale Batman films. Totally didn’t understand that the events in Penguin followed this film while I was watching it which in hindsight I think made the TV series even better. </p><p>Great move by the creators to take a side character like Oz and craft a whole miniseries around him and they did it completely sans the bat. Impressive.</p>

It goes such a long way when the writing really fleshes out each person's motivations and conflicts. Even if the show is less Batman-y than I'd like, it's much better when characters have so much depth, similar to <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Andor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Andor</span></a>. Enjoyed it from start to finish. Colin Ferrel (and the makeup artist(s) deserve all the Emmy’s. Saw that final shot coming a mile away but it was still super satisfying. Wondering what other miniseries these show creators have planned. Hmmm… 🤡</p>

Really well written and I’m quite impressed how LITTLE Batman fan service the series offers. Theres been hardly any name dropping at all which shows incredible restraint on the part of the show runners. Total respect.</p><p>Also, one of the best depictions of Arkham I’ve seen yet. Truly scary and plausible feeling. Overall the show has been great if a tad predictable. Four more to go.</p>
