Fossil fuel companies have vied for such a get-out-of-jail-free card for years.

"Murder the Truth," a new book by New York Times journalist and editor David Enrich, discusses the movement to overturn Sullivan, accelerated by Trump, his allies and people who are influenced by them. Nieman Lab spoke to Enrich about his investigation, the journalists he spoke to, and more. "The push to overturn Roe was obviously one of the most coordinated assaults on established Supreme Court precedent, probably in history," Enrich says. "This is definitely not like that — but it’s not an accident that these people were getting up and being given platforms on places like Fox News to make these arguments over and over again."

"We cannot have a judicial system where the government seeks to remove judges simply because they do not rule as the government desires. Considering the increasing physical threats to judges, these are clearly efforts to intimidate judges and our courts. The courts are a co-equal branch of our government, and they must be treated that way. We call upon the government and our elected officials to cease making these statements. Government officials know they can appeal decisions they do not like. That is the appropriate way to disagree with a decision of a court."

'A group of Apple Watch buyers have filed a lawsuit in Silicon Valley accusing the tech giant of exaggerating how environmentally friendly production of the smart wristwear is.

A civil suit filed Wednesday argues that two nature-based projects Apple cites to back claims of carbon neutrality are areas where trees would be growing regardless of whether the tech company was involved.

"Apple's carbon neutrality claims are false and misleading because both projects fail to provide genuine, additional carbon reductions," the suit contends'. msn.com/en-gb/money/technology

A federal judge has blocked the Trump administration from terminating grants and contracts related to DEI, agreeing with the plaintiffs (including the city of Baltimore and higher education groups) that the termination provision "invites arbitrary and discriminatory enforcement over billions of dollars in government funding," U.S. District Judge Adam Abelson ruled. “The possibilities are almost endless, and many are pernicious ... If an elementary school receives Department of Education funding for technology access, and a teacher uses a computer to teach the history of Jim Crow laws, does that risk the grant being deemed 'equity-related' and the school being stripped of funding?"
