This is great news for all #XML and #pandoc users: Pandoc has now a native XML reader and writer for an XML representation of its internal document model (which was previously mainly serialized as JSON). This means that it is now possible to add support for new input or output formats via X technologies like #XSLT or #XQuery. https://fosstodon.org/@pandoc/115161656754193855 @pandoc

This release comes with many small improvements and a few larger ones.
Among the more visible changes:
• A new input/output format `xml`, which represents a pandoc AST in XML.
• Syntax highlighting updates, including a new command line option `--syntax-highlighting`.
• New extensions `smart_quotes` and `special_strings` for org mode, bringing pandoc's parsing closer to Emacs org-mode's behavior.

More loops, now with full arcs and some separation from the target circles, and some fixes to some of the cross-over loops
![Almost twenty brown circles of various sizes are scattered about. A brown track loops around them, self-intersecting in places and then closing back to the start. The track runs next to the circles, bending around them. It is has a white highlight in the middle, black boundaries, and everything casts a shadow on the background. The circles are separated enough that even where the circles are close, the tracks at most run tangent to each other.
Colophon: Points selected with a Poisson disk sampling with sufficient radius to ensure separation; valid neighbours are those connected by the Voronoi triangles that maintain clockwise flow. Selection of the next target is using a randomly chosen integer sequence from OEIS (mod number of valid targets).
