Bodie, CA is a ghost town. Once a town with ten thousand residents, it was turned into a park in the early sixties. They mined for silver and gold.

Attached are my two favorite pictures from Bodie; please read the captions to learn why I love them.

A square cloud (!!) hangs over the metal processing facility. There's nothing green in the picture.

A globe is lit by the sun, but almost looks like a spotlight is on it. No color remains, no hint of the geography of the time. I have perhaps a not-obvious reason to love this image: The globe was on the other side of the schoolhouse window. I managed to not shoot the reflection!
