We are so lucky we haven't lost power. Roaring fire for the last several days, thermostat set to 66 and still coming on periodically, temp in the bedroom last night was 53!
A normal winter day here: with a fire going, the living room temp gets up to 70-71, the furnace never comes on until the fire winds down about 3:00 am, and the bedroom is 62 at bedtime. (I like to bundle up and get under lots of covers, so a coldish bedroom is my ideal.)
Almost the only place on earth that is unusually cold at the moment is the North American interior. The Arctic (+5C) and Antarctic (+0.5C), Europe, Southeast Asia, Siberia are all hotter than the pre-GW baseline.

If you’re not used to the frigid temperatures that are on their way, NOW is the time to seal any cracks around your windows (duct tape works). Also, leave your water spigots going at a drip. It keeps your pipes from bursting. Get water & hot hands. Wear layers in the house. Keep your furnace at the lowest temp you can stand so you don’t tax it’s capacity (or the grid).
