The causeway to St Michael's Mount is completely under water at high tide, but people walk and drive accross at low tide.
This is the change over moment.
People have walked over and have not made it back before the water is starting to cover the path. But they don't want to pay for the boat taxi back. So a last few decide to wade through the water.

I'm In Marazion. This causeway to St Michael's Mount is completely under water at high tide. We just walked across with the low tide.
This is one of the most picturesque views in Cornwall - I might post more pictures of it over the next few days.

Looking east along the beach, you can see #StMichaelsMount, which is built on a part-time island, in that it is an island when the tide is in but otherwise you can walk to it over a #causeway. St Michael's Mount was given to the Benedictine religious order of Mont Saint-Michel by Edward the Confessor in the 11th century. It's a tidal island that can be reached by a man made causeway between mid-tide and low water. The castle and chapel have been home of the St Aubyn family since about 1650.
