Wie wir wissen, können einzelne Handles aus einer Convo in einem Thread entfernt werden, indem man sie aus dem vorangegangenen Post löscht.
Was ist jedoch, wenn man nur den handle des Posts, auf den man direkt antwortet, herauslöscht?
Dieser Post sah ursprünglich so aus (sh Screenshot). Um Platz zu sparen, habe ich deinen blau geschriebenen Handle dann noch gelöscht.

So it sure looks like #Reddit is going to eat itself in the next week or so. The recent AMA from the CEO pretty much shows they are going the Twitter route. Trying to monetize a platform in a way that's going to drive the users away from it.
I had hoped that #Mastodon would be the thing that could replace both Reddit and Twitter, but without a federated #groups model, or proper #threading, or similar tools, it's not going to work.
So where y'all going?
Can someone point me to a human understandable writeup of 'how to do stuff in parallel in Python'? It can’t graphically show the complexity of conversations of more than about six people on the small sidebar at once, but lets you know that there is a bigger conversation underneath as you’re reading along
I miss this feature terribly in every other social media interface now

@mattblaze Don't worry so much about hijacking posts. Because of the tree nature of comments, the conversation will just go around you. Your comment will get stuck on a side branch. If it doesn't, then it was a valid point.
@shuttersparks That's true. There are some instances that allow longer posts and you may want to consider that when selecting an instance. Some users do not favor longer posts, and may not read them, or may block them. Most instances limit posts to 500 characters however, and threading is a way to link posts together to create longer discussions on a topic. One key thing with threading is to make the second and subsequent posts in the thread unlisted.
@peterdutoit @KatMA @lauren How would you explain #threading? I don’t have a clue! I do lists well though!
Has there been any talk about making threads more organized on Mastodon? Or is this again a question of which server you are on or which app is being used? I’m talking about making it more clear who is responding to who in convos. Maybe also keeping interesting tangential convos organized so they are easier to follow? I’m not a programmer so I’m assuming this may be a challenge. Or it’s easy to do and I’m just clueless
