Where are you, other transmasc people?! I can't seem to find very many AFAB trans people on the fediverse yet We have to be somewhere. I have to find others like me... There have to be other trans masc people who like art or Baldur's gate 3 or animal crossing or trains or tamagotchis or vegan stuff or anarchy/leftist stuff or maybe even all of those things. I can't be the only one. There's no way. I'm just so new though, I have no idea where we are.

As it stands, our follow list has a bias towards trans woman, trans fems, and fembies. We want to balance out our feed and see your posts, thoughts, problems, questions, and joy that we're not currently seeing.

The problem we're having is that we genuinely have not been able to find many by searching

For example, if we do a search from our instance for #TransMasc, we only see about 13 profiles and a handful of posts, probably due to our server not fully searching across fedi

(FYI, any tech recommendations on additionally relays or ways to solve this search / federation issue on a Glitch-SOC server would be very much welcomed.)

So, please can y'all either reply back for us to follow you, have some recommendations of folk we can follow, or have thoughts on getting around our search / federation issue, we'd be super grateful

I just want to clarify first that people can absolutely use whatever terms/labels that fit best for them, and that definitions of said terms/labels can vary from person to person and that's totally fine - so if anyone reads this who has a different experience or definition to what I'm about to say, that's completely valid!

So what do people define as gender nonconforming, particularly in regards to trans people and transitioning?

I'm an afab trans guy - I also ID as bigender, and my second gender is acegender. I've been on T since April 2018, take progesterone to stop my periods, consistently dress in what is traditionally viewed as men's/masc clothing, and am typically read as male. However, I've chosen not to have any surgery and also don't bind - which means I have a visible chest.

Would this be classed as gender nonconforming?

On the one hand - I firmly believe that no body part is gendered, so I in no way view my body (pr parts thereof) as female. So therefore don't consider the presence of a chest makes you any less male/masc.

However, as things stand, the narrative around transmasc/trans male bodies is that you have top surgery. This is such a strong narrative that people insist on referring to me as pre op, and ask me when I'm having surgery or even assume that I've already had surgery, despite the fact I have openly not wanted surgery for several years now. So arguably, I'm not conforming to the expectations attached to my gender identity and presentation.

I'd be interested to see what others think - as I can kinda see both sides

I want to raise money for my top surgery, but I don't know how to go about it in a socially acceptable way...does anyone have any tips on how to do this?

Figured I would make a new introduction post for the newcomers to Fedi. Long post because too many thoughts.

I'm a transmasculine artist (I unfortunately do not post publicly due to the current AI art stuff going on), I'm currently undiagnosed for alot of stuff, but I am suspected to be neurodivergent. I have hypermobility and I use a cane as an emergency mobility aid whenever my knees decide to dislocate, braces for whenever I am having joint pain aswell.

I occasionally play games, however I am not currently playing any at the time of writing this. I enjoy looking at FOSS and other open source/libre alternatives to everyday applications and websites I use.

If you want to buy some of my art or support me, I have a Kofi, a RedBubble and a Society6. For extra information such as pronouns, I have a pronouns.page in my bio, which has all of the sites that I'm associated with.

Word of warning: I don't post often, I mostly just boost on here, since I don't have the words to say whats on my mind most of the time. I also vent on here. I do try my best to tag stuff correctly and CW my vent posts.
