Elizabeth TaskerCruised this year's <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Vket" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Vket</a> (virtual market) in <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/VRChat" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#VRChat</a>, where people display digital assets in often quite beautiful <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/VR" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#VR</a> worlds. We were a little limited by only visiting worlds accessible with the standalone Quest (you get more power if you can link to a PC) but it was still very visually pretty, and a lot of fun!

My favourite was perhaps the industrial looking planet, where the booths were cargo containers that unfolded into stalls when you approached. However, there was some jitter for me, perhaps due to some heavy uploads and included a transformer avatar that could go from car to massive robot 🚗🤖 The Okinawa beach world afterwards was a great contrast! 🏖️

Elizabeth TaskerWent to check out <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/VKET" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#VKET</a>, a <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/VirtualReality" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#VirtualReality</a> Market held on the <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/VR" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#VR</a> social platform, <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/VRChat" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#VRChat</a>. It consists of a series of connected worlds in which developers have their own booths. At the booths you can find examples of the art work (2D and 3D), and try on avatars and similar digital assets. (Buying the asset then usually removes a watermark-like stamp on the avatar.) It was very fun to explore, with imaginative worlds and booths!

EasI bought this R/C plane for <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/VRChat" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#VRChat</a> like two months ago but still haven't added it to any of my avatars - What a shame! I saw the maker Okaeri showcasing it themselves at <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/vket" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#vket</a> summer and it looked so cool. It can even transform into an X-Wing fighter mid air! I should definitely try it out finally. They got other cool items too!
