I just caught up with Monday's #BBCPanorama; & the continued emphasis on "tax pays for everything" was appalling.
There are many ways to reduce government expenditure & increase income; paying interest to commercial banks on money the gov't issues is pointless. We must also increase taxes on the highest "earners", both private & commercial; & prevent huge sums of money being sucked out of the economy into tax havens.
But the government must also spend & invest - & then apply taxes.

A public inquiry has found a toxic culture & poor treatment of detainees at Brook House, an immigration removal centre.
They also recommended a 28 day holding limit for detainees where there is currently none.

The Panorama programme is pretty ridiculous though. They have actual science from Dr Rachel Alfred and then some daft crap from "former actor" Laurence Fox and then some actual WILD conspiracy theories from Katie Hopkins.
Again I don't think #BBCPanorama adds anything valuable.
