A fabulous day up southern Eryri this afternoon. I saw nobody at all in 5 hours. But I did find an unrecorded fossilised beach!

The lake is lowering quickly - and this is a wet place. An old farmstead, once known as 'Cwm y Fedw Ddu', has emerged above the waters now.

I just liked it and thought perhaps it could inspire a way of looking at things, so I adopted it for my blog page.

Since I lost a heap of time searching for my sunglasses, I was in a hurry to reach Goondiwindi before dark and didn't take any more photos along the way.

However, the ride from Narrabri to Moree was fantastic - definitely a highlight of the trip for me. 110 km/hr, dead flat, and almost completely a straight line. You can see all around you to the horizon, with mountains on the eastern side, and cotton fields here and there. The kind of cruising I love. 😁

When I took those photos from the Mt. Kaputar summit, I felt like they really didn't do justice to the view - so I also captured a short panning video.

This is maybe the best summit view I've personally seen - definitely the best one where I could just ride straight to the top instead of hiking. 😁

My sunglasses fell off the bike near the summit of Mt. Kaputar. I looked for an hour, but just couldn't find them again.

I was sitting at the summit, figuring out where I could buy a new pair, when this couple from Yeppoon QLD arrived in their camper to tell me they found them! Somebody else found them first and put them on a stump that I must've walked past, but this couple saw me searching and realised the sunglasses were mine. Real lifesavers! ❤️

I received a recommendation from @MorpheusB to check out Mount Kaputar, an hour's ride east of Narrabri NSW, as I passed by.

It was well worth the visit! These photos aren't even from the summit - I'll share those soon.

The summit is accessible by road. The first 5.8 km from the base is compacted dirt with loose rocks, but the Harley took it like a champ with its street tyres. The rest is bitumen, but there are basically no guard rails the whole way.
