@aram No it is not really interoperable. You cannot run #Zotero on it, for instance, and they purposefully don’t open up the API to permit it. I am waiting for the Firefox ARM release to instead get a #pinenote that can run Zotero. Thought Remarkable would be open, but it is sadly enough only #opencore.
[] A short thread on why I reject the “Open Core” model — and why @silex stays 100% free & libre

@rod2ik

Doubling down on my tough feelings about #n8n.
If it were #OpenSource (which, again, it's not) one could fairly complain that it's merely #OpenCore and far too many features are hiding behind $ subscriptions.
For #selfHosting #homeLab users I don't think it's a viable option at all.

> "open core" is the wrong term, should be called "proprietary shell"
Makes sense. FWIW ...
"...the phrase 'Open Core' has apparently become a slur word, used by those who wish to discredit the position of someone else without presenting facts. I've done my best when using the term to also give facts that backed up the claim, but even so, I finally abandoned the term back in November 2010, and I hope you will too."

When Bitwarden and/or Gitlab eventually change their licensing, no doubt there will be many tech articles saying that it will be yet another example of how #opensource was bad for their business in some way, when they should say that it's yet another example of #OpenCore not working out.
