Took out my Joe Meek JM47. Its been in storage for 20 or so years. Still works thank fuck. Always leant a nice chime'y quality to acoustic guitar and clean electric.

Image is from Sound on Sound mag around 99. Mine still looks like this. 😮 Any time I see one listed on ebay or reverb they're wrecked.

This is just an example of me rambling spoken stuff about it. I feel like this is a bit of tech history.

My apologies if this is common knowledge among screen reader users, but I’ve just learned something new. Often, when scrolling social media, my Voiceover voice would change to a non-English speaking voice and read a post in another accent. It was so pronounced that I could not understand the post even though swiping through one word at a time did allow me to read the words which were clearly in English. But I’ve had French, German, Russian, Arabic & Oriental accents cropping up for no obvious reason.
I thought this might be something to do with Language Detection but it’s not. The way to fix it is quite bizarre.
I use Fiona as my Primary voice. But someone suggested I revert to some other voice as the primary one, then add Fiona as a Rotor Voice. So I put good old Daniel back as my primary voice, then added Fiona to the Rotor. After selecting Fiona from the rotor, I went back and checked one of the posts I had been unable to read and this time it worked perfectly.
Quite why a Rotor voice reads a post in English but the Primary voice doesn’t is beyond me, but if anyone else is having this problem, this is how to fix it.

Having issues with #accessibility on #HamRadioPrep for #ios and the developers don't care. I'm using the #VoiceOver #ScreenReader and the app reads two choices for each answer as if they are shuffling the choices to prevent memorization of the letters. Example: A D all of these choices are correct. Also it doesn't tell me if the answer is correct when I tap on it. I work around this by utilizing the retake missed questions feature

Hey there, any #VoiceOver peeps know how to configure a #UniversalAudio Solo/Arrow interface to record my #VO in a #Logic session with a client directing me on a video call? I’ve tried all the videos and articles about routing and virtual channels in #Console but in a recent Meets call, Meets just hijacked my audio so it was really quiet in Logic. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong. If you could explain it like I’m a baby that would be awesome. Don’t wanna use Loopback.

First, they shut down the Basic HTML site, forcing many of us to switch to clients such as Thunderbird. Now, they're using qr codes which are not only inaccessible to the blind but also to those who don't use smartphones! This is ridiculous! Yes, they do still have the option to click whether it's you trying to sign in or not (which still requires a smartphone and a carrier, which they claim to be concerned about), but how long before they remove that, too?

@joplinapp In the bottom right-hand corner, there is an “Add New” menu. Under this menu, there are two items. To its left, those same items are listed as separate elements, as per #Voiceover. For #accessibility and #productivity, I recommend removing the redundant items and leaving the ones in the menu as is. Alternatively, you could also add the “New Notebook” button to that menu. Does this make sense?

A good Sunday morning to everyone.
I’m probably late to the party on this, but here’s a wee tip for any #Voiceover user who wants to scan and keep copies of important documents.
I received an 8 page official letter which I wanted to scan.
I used SeeingAI’s document option. It was very easy, photographing the first page then waiting until I had set up the next page. Then I selected the “Add Page” button to let it scan the 2nd page, and so on until all 8 pages were scanned into one file.
I then used the Share option to save a copy in my Notes app.
I now have a folder within my Notes app where I can keep copies of all important documents.
I know other apps offer batch scanning, but this was easily the best experience I’ve had with saving documents on my phone.

🎉 I’m diving into Home Assistant for the first time and I’m curious to hear what others think from a blind user’s perspective! I’ve been exploring the iPhone app with VoiceOver, and it seems pretty accessible so far.

Currently, I’ve got:
🗣️ 3 Amazon Echo devices
🎵 2 HomePod Minis
🔔 2 Ring Video Doorbells
🛡️ SimpliSafe Security System

I’m looking to expand my setup soon and would love to hear from the community—what’s your experience with Home Assistant, especially when using screen readers? Is there anything I should keep in mind?

Also, if there’s a way to get in touch with support or help out with testing accessibility, let me know!
