Ready to put some fasteners in to hold the sidewalls to the stakes. The #raisedBeds are just about ready for soil.

When did the green coated screws change to brown? Didn't see that happen. Brown is probably a little nicer anyway.

A few of those and the sides will align and I can start the long slog of shovelling and wheelbarrowing.

Beau sent me another update photo of the #DugoutCanoe that some students at Wellington high school in #Nanaimo are working on. It's almost all finished. Lots of sanding done & just a bit more to do.

He is off work from public schools this Summer & is open for #CoastSalish #ArtCommissions & cultural & native art workshop contracts.

Beau used his day off to go hiking up a mountain to do some #CedarBark #harvesting for more traditional #CoastSalish #weaving work.
He sent me photos as he hiked through the forest. These are just the bark harvest related photos with one fairy slipper orchid wildflower photo - he knows my fave colour is purple 🥰

A beautiful moss covered Western red #cedar #tree - still unprotected.
Only a human, with a compromised & unwell soul, would be OK killing an elder tree this magnificent. Some things are just plain wrong.

These ancient old growth trees are essential to fighting accelerated #ClimateChange. #OldGrowth ecosystems in our coastal temperate rainforests supports much biodiverse lifeforms. The naturally moist environment helps to lower impacts of wildfires & other natural disasters that have increased as our governments continue to fund & enable more ecocidal projects.
