"Dark Ages"
The first couple of nights after they cut the power were just scary. Then the looting and burning began. Streets in flames. And that smell. You didn’t have to die to go to hell.

This is literally the dark side of the Penrose Tiling.
So you know the Penrose Tiling is a 2D-Projection of a 5-dimensional grid?
This is the Projection to the other 3 Dimensions.
Look at that spinning 3D shadow of a 6D Lattice!
Observe the Rhombohedra appear and vanish!

I’ve been busy with client work this week, so while I don’t have anything *actually* new to show you, let’s all cast our minds back to this fun AR project that I made in ye olden times and pretend it’s new together, yes?
"Spring"
The problem with synthoids was that they simply thought too much, overly fixated on optimization. The organics played the long game, dancing patiently since the dawn of time.
I've been working on some new 3D things ahead of my Warrior Art Camp workshop next month, but none of it is quite ready to show yet, so here's a remote-control boy from a couple years ago instead

"Inifinite Scroll"
The altar was surrounded by countless skeletons. Above it, the scroll of immortality floated silently. What does it say? "Thou shall die if ye cease reading!"
Oh, no!

A little code project from 2021-ish. I made 2 different-colored versions of this illustration, along with a few little fire frames, then used the angle of the iPad to fade between them. To add the shiny effect, I used a shader to change how reflective it is based on how light the different parts of the image are. Kind of a weird project, but I like how it turned out. (Illustrated in Procreate and coded in Swift Playgrounds on iPad, btw)
One of the most amazing things #demoscene has produced is creating art with insane platform / size limitations. Most of the time the constraints are coming from the platform or the rules, but sometimes they're self-imposed: Just because everyone else is doing bloaty stuff you don't have to.
Here are couple of my all time favourite intros/demos that totally blew my mind not only for their amazing presentation, design and technical execution but also for their insanely small size:

- Farbrausch: fr-041: debris (demo, 177KB): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jY5Vrc5G0lk

"In the photo of your missing brother... this rug was on the wall, wasn’t it?"
"Yes, detective. But I’ve redecorated," he said - and used it to cover his blood, he thought.
