"The trouble began in August 2017, when my boyfriend and I moved in together, and I quickly revealed myself to be an absolute ding-dong at loading the dishwasher." —Ellen Cushing for The Atlantic

Seriously, I agree with @geerlingguy and I'll refuse to buy @internetofshit / #InternetOfShit devices.
There is no legitimate reason a #Dishwasher needs #Internet access or an #App.
Seriously, I'm just mad at this #Enshittification!
The internet of things means a relentless pursuit of progress.
So Mad… Soooo Mad

Our preferred #dishwasher detergent pods aren't available, so I'm looking for #recommendations for something that minimizes waste - trying to minimize plastics, landfill bound packaging, #microplastics, single use wrappers, and scents. We cook a lot and run the dishwasher 4+ times a week, it adds up, and have been using portioned pod-things for convenience, which is fine but just feels bougie and only adds a slight convenience.
Replacement Option A is basic Cascade powder in a cardboard box.
Replacement Option B is, at the suggestion from a r/zerowaste commenter, chasing down bulk powder detergent from a catering/restaurant supply company or similar.
#CambridgeNaturals in nearby #CambridgeMA offers Seventh Generation gel in a plastic bottle, and Blueland tablets listed on their web store.
However, in my search I learned that the #NorthEnd has a new-to-me #ZeroWaste shop called #Uvida, which has a bunch of #ecofriendly refill/#sustainable options in #Boston - and they have a powdered detergent in a brand I've not seen before, #RusticStrength: https://www.uvidashop.com/pages/automatic-dishwasher-powder-unscented-ingredients
I'll update if I find something I can offer as a #recommendation

My #lifehack for both clean dishes & longer lasting #dishwasher:
1 | visit your local animal shelter
2 | adopt a #dog
3 | love, train, and bond with them
4 | let them clean dishes after meals (ONLY in kitchen, NEVER at table)
5 | put dishes in dishwasher
6 | enjoy the unconditional love of a dog and clean dishes
This is a long shot, but I'm looking for help with my #Klarstein tabletop #dishwasher It's a refurbished Azuria Dishwasher 1380W and I only just received it. It turns on, but doesn't do anything else.
I filled the dishwasher salt and rinse aid as in the instructions, and the warning lights went away. I connected the inlet pipe to my cold tap and turned it on. I tried to run it empty for a short cycle as the manual said. Nothing happens.
Suggestions? #repair
Have you cleaned your #dishwasher filter lately?
Successfully debugged my dishwasher. Had an issue (for more than a year) with dishes just not getting clean, and after re-doing the drainage tube so it had a lot smoother run between the air gap and the dishwasher disposal, the dishwasher now runs nicely! (there was a slight kink in the tube, but enough apparently to back up the drainage) #dishwasher #debugging
Ooof. There's a dishwasher with detergent DRM. Just hacked, but still... #drm #dishwasher #connected
A boring but helpful #Dishwasher #TipOfDay
So I learned I should not leave price stickers on new dishes when washing them before use. They were stuck so well and I didn’t want to get the adhesive remover out just then. Well, I found most of the 10 in the bottom of the dishwasher. HOPE I got most out but nervous any will still cause a problem. If you’ve got a tip to share, please do in reply! Especially tips on dishwashers and removing very stuck stickers.
There are a million different ways to pack the #dishwasher, and none of them is the "right" way (except for mine).
After being "that guy" who always talks about #dishwashers after watching @TechConnectify's videos: loose powder vs. dishwasher pods, etc etc..
..I've gone back to pods myself.
I was using loose powder before and seeing "dusty" residue after each cycle. Got a free sample of pods from my local grocery store and .. it was spotless.
I guess powder quality matters. The loose powder in stores near me is crap.
So yeah, I've gone back to pods. I can't argue with the results.
