A sunset scene. The sun lies low in the horizon, a smudgy white disc with a yellowish outer ring. Clouds hung below it. A grassy bush underlit in the foregrown, a dark shade of green. A row of palm trees are silhoutte in the middle ground - they are a type of palm trees, not the ones you see in the beaches, but this is a favourite dish of elephants. They swallow it whole and shit out the seeds so the trees grow wanton in Murchison falls national park, Uganda.

There is a small bathroom just outside my office. When I went in this morning to check the mirror, the door began to close on its own. It stopped before fully shutting, sparing me from being trapped in the room with some mysterious and sinister entity. In reality, I suspect the explanation lies in a doorway that is slightly askew. Scenes like this are often featured in scary movies, where the human occupant trapped in the room is typically a young woman. Yet, I can't help but wonder—when I turned away from the mirror, did my reflection move with me, or did it remain frozen, silently watching as I pondered the door?
