Tras casi dos semanas con @GrapheneOS instalada en un #pixel6a, los "problemas" de batería se han resuelto totalmente y volvemos a los consumos y duración que tenía el móvil antes de la actualización de julio, esa del parche que capaba la batería.
Lo malo, que me quedo sin pagos NFC (con Google Wallet, con la app del banco sí que van)
My several year-old #Pixel6a received an update from #google this week that dramatically cut the battery life. I've used the adaptive charging method (charges slowly to 'preserve battery life'. This seems to have been for nothing as Google's messaging suggests that not all devices were affected and batteries are a disposable commodity. I guess the unit in batch of batteries that went into my phone degrade rapidly after only 400 cycles. My phone is at 479.
My options are:
- send my phone on for weeks to have them replace the battery
- get a $150 play store credit
- make a sketchy account with something called Payoneer that requires my SSN or id to be uploaded to get $100
Soooo, Google appear to have killed my #Pixel6A phone (that cost me £400 two years ago).
1) Do I know any knowledgable phone people who would be willing to answer basic questions about picking a replacement?
2) I think anyone currently embroiled in a #PikminBloom walking challenge with me should do the honourable thing and sit very still until I get a new phone

@heiseonline Ich benutze zwar GrapheneOS auf meinem Pixel 6a, aber ich gehe mal davon aus, daß dieses Update da auch übernommen wird.
Naja, immerhin hat mein Smartphone erst 59 Ladezyklen, also sollte ich von der Akkukapazitätsverringerung noch eine Weile nicht betroffen sein, hoffe ich.

I even fixed my Pixel 6a back in December. Unfortunately, I broke the new screen a few weeks ago, and the microphone and speakers also started to fail, and the battery was showing its age.
I'm glad I upgraded to my Pixel 9a when I did. I love GrapheneOS and have been using it since early May 2023 with my 6a.
I’ve never owned a Pixel 4a, but I always liked its simple and clean design. I’m not a fan of the look of the Pixel 6 series and newer models.
That said, I recently upgraded from a Pixel 6a to a Pixel 9a because I care more about privacy and security than design.
With @GrapheneOS, I give up some physical designs that don’t appeal to me, but I gain a lot more privacy and security in return, so it’s a trade I’m happy to make.
I’ve been using #GrapheneOS since early May 2023 on my Pixel 6a, and I’m writing this while setting up my new Pixel 9a.

I installed #GrapheneOS on my #Pixel6a.
I'm disappointed that the @signalapp app is not available on #FDroid.
#Signal is apparently only available via the #Google Play Store which defeats the purpose of having Graphene in my opinion.

A couple of nights ago we saw #Wicked at #RooftopMovies in #PerthWA .
After the show, though, I took this shot with my #Pixel6a , looking back at the projection room and the bar behind it.
I'm guessing the cyan objects are internal reflections, but I choose to believe they were a bunch of #UFOs sneaking in to catch the show on the sly.
After a year, how has my Pixel 6a with GrapheneOS changed?
