I think this year's Nobel is a big driver behind the recent spate of confusing articles.
It's hard to imagine replacing our notions of #space & #time with "something else", or that they're merely "illusions". However, that does not change the fact that these are our self-defined inputs. We've been successfully using them to communicate & describe reality from our beginning.
Still, the reactions to the #reification of these abstract concepts (now counting over 100 years) are often worse than the error itself.
The media seems to be condoned by the 'leaders' of these fields, who decade after decade, choose to teach via 'mystical confusion' rather than to openly admit the inherent flaws in our best theories. Ego is a helluva drug.
The historical timeline has been redacted & sanitized so much that even ernest researchers are left with nothing more than the same set of useless quotes, that are humble-brags for how stupid you (the student) are, and how hopeless it would be for anyone to attempt to solve what the previous gods were incapable of.
Taken all together, this #clstrfk does not inspire much confidence in the '#system', the lack of which becomes more radical with each generation, displayed as anti-authority & anti-intellectualism. These generations & their attitude are now the norm.
On the bright side, there are no clearer examples of being on the precipice of #revolution.
