A juvenile Great Blue Heron, more grey and white patchy on the back, with some brown tones added on the sides, compared to the adult. What I always think of as a herringbone tie down its long neck, blue/black and white diagonal 'v' shapes, also with a hint of the brown/tan. The juvenile has more of a checkerboard back to the neck too. Bill is black upper and yellow below, yellow eye. The bill shows less of the wear normally visible on the adult - caused by constant stabbings. In water against tall grasses.

A Snow Egret, a medium sized all white bird with long black legs, yellow feet, a long, pointed black bill and yellow between the bill and yellow eyes. Stepping off a weed covered rock with incoming waves behind, some gree sea-weed wrapped around the lower part of its legs just above the yellow feet.

A Snowy Egret, a medium sized all-white water-bird with long black pointed bill which holds a small fish - eye of fish to the right, tail looped around to the left by the egret's right eye. The bird is standing in water nearly up its llong legs to its body, having spied the fish in the quite large waves (for this harbour anyway) and going in to get it.

A small rowing boat, pointed away and to the right from the camera - with a Snowy Egret at the front (prow) and a Great Egret just hopped onto the central seat. The birds are both all white, the Great is larger with yellow bill and black legs, the Snowy has yellow feet, dark legs with a yellow stripe (not that visible in this shot) and dark bill, and yellow between bill and eyes. Both have yellow eyes.
