IANAL und IANA Consumer Protector.

Keine Ahnung, wie es in AT ist, aber in DE darf meines Wissens Rabatt gegeben werden. D.h. das Schnitzel muß erstmal auf der Speisekarte den gleichen Preis haben, aber dann gibt man nach Gutdünken Rabatt.

In AR habe ich mit großer Begeisterung in einem Laden eingekauft, der 10 % Rabatt bei #Barzahlung gegeben hat! 🙂

Eine Tafel in einem Ladengeschäft: "-10 % PAGO EFECTIVO", also "-10 % bei Barzahlung".

#Question: How can business establishments (and public agencies!) legal refuse to accept #cash ?

US currency notes all say "This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private."

I've seen enough big data sales pitches lately to be downright paranoid about using my credit card for day-to-day purchases, and unbanked people don't even have the option to use a credit card.

This is a real question I've been confused about for several years, but today's announcement from my employer...

I prefer using #cash over plastic. Since I'm forced to participate in a monetary run society, I chose the most grassroots option possible & it's cash. I try to avoid using plastic to pay whenever it's possible - which is almost all the time.

Let’s be quite clear about this. The big four #banks operating in #Australia are some of the most profitable and stable banks in the world. They have been propped up and backed by Australian govt surety from all political persuasions.

Furthermore, #Inflation (CPI and Headline) is now well within the RBA’s required band and a rate cut will be welcomed by all wage earners.

As for Real Estate, #inflation and #Cash rate have very little to do with it. The issue with #housing #affordability is a #tax issue, readily fixed by any govt with balls enough to tackle much needed #tax #reform.

So, I don’t know where this leaves your story… down the #toilet I would guess.

Hmmm.... @alex_p_roe , you might be interested in Gaby Hinsliff's report, which includes the TikTok/Instagram trend of 'cash stuffing' - the approach to budgeting we were discussing earlier....

Maybe cash isn't going to keep losing its appeal to consumers.

And as Hinsliff concludes: 'the past few decades have not given me enormous confidence in the social worth of unquestioningly doing whatever banks want'!
