So, you might be thinking, I thought you were going to play Shadowgate 64 after Phantom Menace! Yes, I am, but I also have 7 hours of train travel today, so I wanted something small and simple to play on the train journey.

This brings us to today's game, Trax, a game by Hal Laboratory.You play as a small little tank with a canon that can be independently turned to fire in 8 directions. You'll be blasting your way to stages to stop the manufacture of more tanks, it seems, not sure. I am hazy on the details.

This feels like a game made by the Kirby Dev team, it even shares familiar assets and has a game flow similar to Kirby's Dream Land, complete with late game boss rush and a hammer wielding final boss.

It has beautifully simple gameplay, and it was a lot of fun to play. I would have loved this game as a child. It was the perfect game for my commute today!
