This is a pixel-perfect vector (as a png here) of the very early System 1.1 and Finder v1.1g “about” screen. It is pretty hard to find on the internet, generally. Again, thanks to the Infinite Mac website for allowing me to to take a screenshot!

I recreated every pixel as a 1x1 px vector and merged them where possible. As an svg or it will render perfectly at any size. I have two versions—this one with the words and shadow as the original and a second one without the words and shadow. #marchintosh #vintagecomputers #macOS

My laser printer kept disconnecting from the network all through #MARCHintosh. But I've now got it plumbed directly in to the server (using the handy USB-over-cat5 thingamahoos) and it seems much happier. Poked around with papd a bit and it's set up with a nice little spool now that will collect AppleTalk print jobs when it's off and then release them when it's back on. Hopefully. Ideally. It seems to work for me, at least. #LiveLaughLocalTalk

Birkenhackers powering up our Apple IIGS late for #Marchintosh, we needed to use a projector since it was the only thing lying around supporting 15kHz VGA signals.

On a sidenote, we've been using a OnePlus 6 running #nixos as our web browsing and research machine.

Thanks everybody for a great #MARCHintosh and #GlobalTalk activity month! I had lot's of fun! Sadly could not keep up the last week because of work. Big thanks to everybody who sent stuff to my printer and dropbox. It means a lot. Special shoutout to @kalleboo for the scavenger hunt! Definitely one of the highlights this year. Also thanks to everybody who tuned in to my QuickTime Conferencing video broadcast. Can't see in the application who did but a lot of traffic was routed. Cool!

Hi. So, it's a couple of days too late for #MARCHintosh, but I've got #HyperCard busy controlling the QuickCam now. And that's also how we can tell that midnight is quickly approaching.

End of #marchintosh survey for #globaltalk participants!

The official end of #MARCHintosh at #WOzFest HQ #GlobalTalk Print Shop was marked by this poignant print from @kalleboo, sent 20 minutes before the end of March, Anywhere on Earth.

While March is officially over, #GlobalTalk lives on, even during its relative 11 month hibernation between MARCHintoshes.

Though #MARCHintosh may be over, I will leave some Macs up on #GlobalTalk for a while longer.

I accomplished my goal for jrouter: fix some bugs and bring the AURP implementation closer to fully complete.

Development might slow down for a while but I still plan to tackle netatalk compatibility, TashTalk, and maybe LToU before next year!

Did #MARCHintosh pass you by this year?

I'm leaving my Mythintosh Quadra 600 (a Centris 610 re-housed in a custom 3D-printed case) on all day today to catch any #GlobalTalk stragglers looking to drop off funny greetings on my AppleTalk zone.

An unstated goal was
4. To get a printer on #GlobalTalk

I completed 1 in time for March 1, and 2 by the middle of the month, 2 felt like redemption for something that felt like failure last year. Never had the time/desk space for 3, but maybe that'll be a good post-March project? #mb… (1/5)
