Naseeruddin Saami (born 1945) is a classical singer from #Pakistan. He is called ustad ("master") for his mastery of classical music.
He's the last living vocal practitioner of an ancient 49-note microtonal Surti (or shruti) scale and mixes khayál (Arab for ‘fantasy’) and #Qawwali.

Khan’s vocal improvisations take fuller flight than on the earlier Mustt Mustt, balanced by Brook’s sympathetic (and painstakingly edited) multitrack arrangements. Khan’s more traditional music of the same year can be heard on the disc, Revelation.

C'est un plaisir à écouter, car j'ai beaucoup emprunté de "musiques du monde" quand j'étais petit dans la bibliothèque audio du quartier, notamment Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, bien avant d'écouter du metal, et là Andre Antunes marie vraiment bien les deux.
