Well, fuck me. The new method to order contours fails in other simpler cases. Going back to the old well-tested one. Hopefully because the ordering now happens before projection, this will also fix the previos bug.

Good news: I finally got my blog working in part by deleting my _site directory and re-rendering everything. Now, though, a strange issue on my Quarto blog - I can't get the category listing pages to display posts properly.
If anyone thinks they might know why, thanks in advance!! More details in my @Posit forum post :

Really enjoying this workshop with @nrennie and hosted by #RLadies St. Louis:

Maybe this is a push for me to start using #RStudio at some point

Nicola's materials are available here:

setting up Git.
The truly important reason to try the #positron R/Python editor is that it can work in parallel with another R session open in #RStudio for a different project...
Also amazed by the #Pluto notebook for #Julia scientific work. One of its nice features is that the associated file is in text format and the code can be easily extracted. Not yet ready to switch from #ggplot to #VegaLite though.

Bonjour à tous , aujourd'hui tour d'horizon de l'IDE #Rstudio , article loin d'être complet je dois continuer à creuser: https://ordinatous.github.io/blogdown/2025/03/10/rstudio-et-blogdown/#l
Wrote this whole #emacs config because of the increasing presence of pay-to-use workbenches in #research. I find it more complete and flexible than #jupyter or #rstudio. Give it a go!

Something I've noticed already a few #RStudio updates ago: whenever I open a new project in RStudio, it stays grey for 5 to 20 seconds before it fires up. Especially when there's another instance open already this delay is obvious. That's also a lot longer than it used to.
I still appreciate the IDE, but I have the feeling @Posit is cluttering the IDE so much that performance starts to suffer.
PS: this is on #Windows (alas)
@LinuxTorvaldIsGod I know that #GTK is very popular among developers on the #Linux platform, but isn't it possible to find alternatives for all of these applications [1]?
The #KDE / #QT ecosystem also has excellent applications (#Krita, #LibreOffice QT, #KDEnlive, #Shotcut, #QGIS, #DigiKam, #OBSStudio, #Friction, #PDF4QT, ...). There are many #Electron-based applications (#Chromium, #RStudio, #Slack, ...) and those applications using other toolkits (#Blender, ...)
Dear scientists, especially the R-community:
The NZ government wants to scrap all soc social sciences and humanities.
I probably don't have to explain why this is a totally bonkers milei-ish idea. (maybe just add the detail that Māori researchers will be overproportionally affected by these budget cuts, but this is probably anyway a feature of the plan)
I address the #RStats community explicitely, since R was developed in Aotearoa. And here in the Fediverse we are *many* R nerds!
So, @kjhealy or other kiwis, is there something the international academic community could do to express our thoughts and support your struggle?
I'm starting a new research project and I want to use #python to force myself to learn new skills. What is the current best practice for creating reproducible reports in the python world? I dislike jupyter notbooks with a passion, so I'm leaning towards #quartopub. What would be the best IDE to manage a project running on a remote machine? Would #rstudio server work for that or should I use something else?
Looking for #advice for trying to correct #ATR #FTATR #spectrum using #R / #rstudio .
I need to make my #spectra comparable to #OPTIR but I can’t figure out the #coding for #ATRcorrection .
Note: I don’t need to do #baselinecorrection as such, more about #weighting :)

RStudio code snippets save time by offering easy access to code you want to re-use -- things that may not be worth creating their own package.
Here's how to write and save them: https://www.infoworld.com/article/2260760/how-to-use-rstudio-code-snippets.html
