Gaza Flotilla Activist Slams "Israeli Piracy on the High Seas" After Ship Seized in Int'l Waters

youtube.com/watch?v=cBtLILTIS8

"Their blockade is, by all international standards, unlawful," says Palestinian American human rights attorney Huwaida Arraf, who was among the activists on board and was just released from Israeli detention. She calls on the international community to hold Israel accountable.

The breaking down of old #western #imperialism has taken centuries.

The #modern world was formed in the promise of no more shifting borders - by the #UN - who then proceeded to ignore the existence of the #Palestinian and their land by way of the #colony known as #Isreal.

Being confronted with this fact, it seems prudent to say that if #Palestine gets destroyed, modernism would die with it. Why even care at that point? It's just words that have no meaning.

« Il est parfois difficile d’être humain.

Porter le chagrin et la colère, la peur et la culpabilité, l’espoir et le désespoir – tout à la fois », a écrit Mme [Angela] Mattar dans son post Instagram.

« Mais malgré tout, j’espère.

Malgré tout, je prie.

Que cette terre, notre foyer, soit un jour le témoin de la paix. »

“It’s hard to be human at times like this. To carry grief and rage, fear and guilt, hope and despair – all at once,” Ms. [Angela] Mattar wrote in her Instagram post. “

But still, I hope.

Still, I pray.

May this land, our home, one day witness peace.”

War is a nothing burger.

Well here we are. Under its narcissistic, incoherent, man-baby president, the United States of America joined the genocidal government of Israel to bomb Iran.

I won’t go into the geopolitical outrage at all this – partly because I’m not competent enough to make useful comments, partly because I’m ignorant to the long history of the US meddling in the Middle East, and mostly because it is just screaming into the abyss.

Yet.

Iran is probably toast. It has limited military response; its missile capability is being degraded by the hour. Sure, there will be threats (such as closing down the Strait of Hormuz) and demands that the United Nations condemn (in the strongest possible terms, mind you) the joint US and Israeli actions….

But war is a nothing burger.

Nothing will happen. Iran will continue to be bombed etc etc. Its civilian population will increasingly suffer etc etc… until there is a fall of the current regime. And then nothing will happen while the country falls apart into whatever future the US decides is best for its own strategic interests.

Or more realistically, what is best for the financial interests of the powerful ‘elites’.
Or even more realistically, a future that is whatever the fuck DJ Trump pulls out from that belly-button-lint-lined mono-syllabic rambling abyss between his ears in any particular pivotal moment of decision-making.

Then.

Nothing will happen whilst we are all distracted by the pseudo-shock-and-awe of it all. And nothing will happen whilst the UN does nothing, and Australia does nothing, And the UK does nothing, and the Democrats do nothing.

Meanwhile the people of Gaza will do nothing but continue to be slaughtered.

Hundreds die daily from hunger and thirst, just as our children, women, and men perish under relentless bombardment and destruction. Since the war’s onset, neither humans nor animals have been spared; killing, displacement, and famine have devastated all forms of life. Yet the world remains silent, watching this tragedy unfold without intervention. No one speaks of a full ceasefire, and no one breaks this staggering silence. Over 2 million Gazans are being suffocated — not just by bombs, but by a global silence that seems to wish for our demise. All we ask for is our right to live with dignity: to live on our land and eat from its blessings without fearing that food will cost us our blood.

While #Trump focuses on removing every single living #immigrant from the #USA, #war rages between #Iran and #America's vassal state, #Isreal. Panicked, confused, and mentally out-of-his-depth, Trump says "wait 2 weeks" for his decision -- maybe because that's how long it takes the USA #media to get distracted...

My sister in law is Iranian but lives here in the UK, her family is in Tehran. There is a complete internet blackout there, no phones, no way to learn if her family is alive or dead.

Meanwhile the Guardian is running a "are you in Iran and affected by the war? Contact us. .." Ad....

Israel and Trump are saying civilians should evacuate Tehran, while they bomb hospitals and tower blocks.

Where would you run to if they told you to evacuate your city?. When all of the roads are gridlocked by your whole city trying to do the same?
