After a while and some further climbing, we passed the wooded area and emerged into a meadow. Unlike #Dartmoor, which is home to both #cattle and #sheep, there only seem to be #sheep being reared in #Exmoor. Here, we see a group of #lambs feeding in the field, along with some adult sheep.

Morgen ist wieder Scheren angesagt... Wir sind etwas im Verzug dieses Jahr. Es ist schon recht warm, die Schafe haben im dicken Pulli schon eher heiss. Und wir möchten gerne, dass sie im Sommer, wenn sie auf 2000m Höhe sind, wieder etwas Wolle haben. Und es ist toll, wenn die Herbstwolle dann länger ist, als die Frühlingswolle. Nach dem Alpsommer ist die Wollqualität einges besser als nach dem Winterstall

Double trouble right there.

A photo of two almost identical lambs standing apart in a field, staring at the camera. They are black although the face of the one on the right is slightly mottled white. Their relatively large ears stick out at an angle. I think they might be Welsh mule lambs. There’s a stone wall behind, and a grassy slope with clumps of yellow gorse.

A third creamy coloured lamb is in the top left of the photo - its back is turned. It has a small (possibly docked) tail. A sunny day and the lambs are casting shadows to the right. Full of the joys of spring! In the Northern Hemisphere, the vernal equinox arrived this morning and we're now enjoying increasingly more than 12 hours of daylight with each passing day – probably my favourite time of the year.
