I have a dilemma with browsers: [solution found, see comments]
I really like Zen Browser but it has a ram issue on my computer which causes frequent crashes. I switched to LibreWolf and it's having the same issues. I'm on fedora.

Default Firefox does not have these issues, I'm thinking that's because it's a native rpm package and not a flatpak. There doesn't seem to be an rpm version of Zen or LibreWolf. I could switch to default firefox but it's got mozilla telemetry and extra features I don't want to see. I want a private browser, as of recently this probably isn't a great choice.
Is there any other version of firefox that isn't changed much? Or should I just use normal firefox?

If you are using #Firefox or one of its derivatives like #zenbrowser on #Linux with a trackpad, you might have had sub-optimal scrolling experience.

You can (mostly) fix it by going to about:config and setting `apz.gtk.pangesture.delta_mode` to 2 and `apz.gtk.pangesture.pixel_delta_mode_multiplier` to something lower like 25.

The solution was found in this thread: bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.

En réinstallant le PC portable, je me suis dit que c'était probablement la bonne occasion pour passer complètement à Zen Browser à la place de Firefox. Je l'avais déjà rapidement essayé et ça me semblait pas mal.

Et bien, le mode compact avec auto-disparition des barres horizontale d'adresse et verticale des onglets est assez génial. Ça rend vraiment la navigation plus agréable. Il manque juste la possibilité de faire des groupes d'onglets (qui est arrivée récemment sur Firefox) et ça sera top 🥰

#CryptPad still has a few rough edges:

• opening a new window takes a lot of time, which becomes an issue if your browser likes to aggressively unload tabs (looking at you, #ZenBrowser);
• the Markdown editor lacks proper #LaTeX support. It’s possible to embed a #MathJax code block, but inline LaTeX is impossible;
• the UI is ugly. Especially in dark mode. It does not reflect the great quality of the project, and that’s sad.

Anyway, give CryptPad a try if you haven’t already!

I've stopped using Firefox since the drama a while back... Using #ZenBrowser and #LibreWolf mainly on macOS and on #Android, #Ironfox and #Cromite (as an alt browser). But I'm having quite a lot of website functionality problems when using Ironfox. Can't create accounts, forms not working, can't use #webauthn, pages not loading correctly, checkouts or shopping sites broken, etc. I guess I need to have #Firefox still installed... It's annoying. What's your workaround? #browsers #androidbrowser

But, the moment I opened Zen Browser suddenly the filesystem went read-only. Coincidence, I think not. This also happened when I was offline. I opened Zen it showed me the webpage, all good. I reloaded it, it showed me the classic thing "something unexpected happened". All good. But when I closed the #browser, suddenly the FS went read-only.

So, today morning I opened the laptop with #wifi turned off and checked the system. It was going alright. The filesystem was behaving normally like it should. I also double-checked it using `mount | grep "btrfs"` and `fastfetch`. To check the nvme drive, I used `sudo smartctl --xall /dev/nvme0n1p3` + the diagnostics tool in the bios menu.

Bonjour la team @Mozilla francophone. Pour mon nouveau profil #Firefox (en fait #ZenBrowser), je cherche un dictionnaire français appliquant la réforme de 1990, et je n’en vois aucun sur AMO. C’est normal ? Pourtant il y en avait, avant ?

En désespoir de cause, j’ai tenté d’installer #Grammalecte, qui annonce embarquer les deux dictionnaires français… mais non, aucun des deux dictionnaires n’est présent. Normal aussi ?

(Y a-t-il encore une communauté Mozilla francophone ?)
