I am now going to channel the serenity of this orangutan, think peaceful thoughts, and head off to sleep. Sweet dreams all

The smile made it all worthwhile.
Hotel hotel.
You know they are shooting for a pretty exclusive hotel vibe when they name it twice.
Grabbed these two photos in the lobby of the hotel hotel which is located in a trendy area of Canberra re-branded as New Acton. To be honest I really liked the ambience of the place with artistic wooden accents and large planter boxes all over the exterior.
Im pretty happy with how both these photos turned out. The top photo is even a little bit Saul Leiter methinks! I will give myself a 7.9 imposter syndrome points out of 10.
I took the photo of the lady entering the lobby only to look up and see a security camera literally 0.5 meters above my head and pointed right at me. I thought I had better get out of Dodge… just as said lady (who was totally gorgeous) spotted me and gave me a spine-melting smile.
So. Worthwhile. And I will give myself an extra point soaking up that smile.
Mongoose! There were many others out of shot, which I deeply feel should be described as mongeese, but I think are mongooses (we had quite a lengthy conversation about this at the time).

The very serious and contemplative white-headed vulture, looking a little like it's wearing a very fetching black feather boa.
Also, don't want to be picky, but it really should be called a pink and blue headed vulture.

The Zoo Trip Photo Thread
Although I'm sure I will get distracted with scribbling at points, I have a few photos from our trip to Chester Zoo that I just want to post to say LOOK AT THIS BEAUTY, so I am going to stick them together as I sort through
This is the first. A purple starling and, well, LOOK AT THIS BEAUTY!

A land of grim darkness that has no night. Captured from a realm of sublime contradiction, my "Midnight in the Shadow World".
It's been a slow, rough spring for #bakeapples on the north coast of #Labrador. We've been here since June 7, and it looks like peak bloom, if it ever arrives, will be next week.
Still, always enjoy my time here!

@Alice #photography is all about choice. I love that concept, it is choice in its purest form!
