Day 2...
So... I think I need to address the audio overflow issues I'be been having. Like, day one on #pmos on my pixel 3a I've seen random buffer overflow... I've just ignored it. While the device did get fairly warm... it wasn't more than my regular android phone would get, but I had two reboots happen in an 11hr drive. Given, audio has rebooted and frozen the phone in the past, I can't say navigating was the issue. Also, I #puremaps worked well... but obivously waze navigated a quicker route. There were a few questiobable decisions puremaps decided on routing... like getting off a highway for an exit and getting back on... While I relied on waze, puremaps would have gotten me there... reboots aside. But yes, otherwise I had #qutebrowser monotoring my work communiques. I was streaming a twitch stream (shout out to #theunexpectables) for a good chunk too... which was a little much...should have done audio only
#qutebrowser is 11 years old, almost on the minute! I'm celebrating by releasing v3.4.0: https://listi.jpberlin.de/pipermail/qutebrowser/2024-December/000960.html
Helvetica Ultra Compressed.otf
.Helvetica
set in their CSS but I cannot fathom out why they would use the font in my ~/.fonts
folder as it's name does not match. I even tried replacing the spaces with - but that wasn't the issue either ? I wonder if it's just a #Qutebrowser issue ?????fc-list | grep Helvetica
outputs:/home/justine/.fonts/Helvetica Ultra Compressed.otf: Helvetica,HelveticaMaybe it is just this font so I'll just remove it for now ???
UltraCompressed:style=Ultra Compressed,Regular
I find it extremely worrying that no #browser can get by with less than 1 GB of RAM anymore, not even #qutebrowser. To display a bit of #html you need such bloated software? Even for dynamic content I think that's completely excessive.
Switching to #tut for #Mastodon is still easy. It gets more difficult with websites. I tried #links #lynx and #w3m. The latter is the clear winner. It can also be practically linked to my #RSS reader #newsboat. But that's not exactly beautiful. It's all very depressing. #Linux
I would love to make #qutebrowser or #luakit my main browser, but I can't configure either of them to my needs the way I can with #librewolf using plugins.
I'm afraid that Librewolf will adopt undesirable elements of its origin #Firefox, which is why I need alternatives. #Linux #Arch #Data protection
(Before anyone suggests it to me: No, #Brave is not coming onto my device.)
dictcli.py
and run it./usr/share/qutebrowser/scripts/dictcli.py
in any location. Does anyone know where it is located on FreeBSD please ? #RunBSDpkg query '%Fp' qutebrowser
and dictcli.py
is no where to be found using the pkg
installed version of qutebrowser
.Bash
from the default sh
but I may return who knows ?User Agent
string in my #Qutebrowser config.py
that was causing issues only with #DuckDuckGo search results.@tuckerteague

I daily drive / #qutebrowser /
however it has a bit of a learning curve since navigation use mainly the keyboard
N.B. people looking for a low memory hugging #webbrowser would love this one.
However I voted FF since it is bit more user friendly and has broader web compliancy.
@ayakael it is very slick and very capable and the emacs-like key bindings are very welcome, but now I'm puzzling through how to make #qutebrowser the secondary-browser in #eww
There have been some reports of problems uploading images to #Fosstodon when using #Qutebrowser. Is anybody else experiencing this?
@JustineSmithies I did a quick test of an image upload in #Qutebrowser here on Fosstodon, and it didn't have any issues that I could see. Is it giving an error message of some kind?
You think I'm done yet?
NOPE!
