A bit warmer out this morning (45F) so I stood in the yard as still as possible while letting the Merlin Bird ID run for four minutes. They’re all the usual customers. I saw two towhees kicking dirt and a few robins up with the red berries. The crows flew over to complain about me; chickadees and juncos snuck up to grab a nut or two.

This Steller’s jay came closest, so I took a picture or two.

Stay inside when possible.

Those #N95s do double duty these days. #MaskUp to keep the smoke particles out as well as #Covid (#CovidIsNotOver)

A couple moths seen recently at the back porch light.
1) Iridopsis emasculatum
Range:
British Columbia south to northern California, Arizona, New Mexico, western Texas.
Food:
Larval hosts are woody plants; alder, maple, willow, and blueberry.
2) Brown-lined Looper (Neoalcis californiaria)
Range:
Southern California to coastal British Columbia.
Food:
Larvae feed mainly on Douglas-Fir.
