It fascinates me how #mushrooms change over a few days- I mean plants change a lot too from seed/spore to maturity, but not usually as fast + I guess I'm more familiar with the stages!
This is probably a Shaggy Parasol / Chlorophyllum sp. growing by the path in front of the old trailer, under a large spruce, with descendants of Campanula rapunculoides +Aquilegia hyb my aunt planted long ago. Two young mushrooms, one on the right is a bit bigger growing close together from among Bellflower, Dandelion and grass leaves. Stems are relatively wide, whitish, smooth; caps are almost egg shaped, only slightly wider at base. They appear to have begun as light brown, but as they've grown, the brown has stretched, cracked and exposed white underneath/between the brown bits. The very top is still brown, but as you look downward, the rows and patches of brown become smaller and peel up partly to look like irregular tags (this is where 'shaggy ' comes from in the name, but the 'shags' are not long like hair)
Looking at the same 2 mushrooms, and a third a little distance away, same size as the smaller of the first two. We are a bit farther away and can see more of the surrounding green vegetation, Bellflowers in bud and some blooming out of focus to far left, a light grey fabric and metal folding chair to left and the scaley red-brown and grey bottom of the trunk of a large spruce tree to right.
The same 2 mushrooms as first image, a little bigger now, the larger one pressing into the smaller. The brown has receded more, white expanded. They are now more parasol shaped, less egg.
All 3 mushrooms as seen in the wide view, but closer, from above, and several days later much more mature. They've now moved past the domed parasol stage and are more like 3 pancakes. The larger of the twinned pair still has one distorted edge where it pressed into its smaller mate. They all have a brown centre still surrounded by concentric rings of irregularly shaped small brown bits. These tags still have bits of white around them, the rest of the surface has darkened to a beige to light brown.

"An Alberta municipality that declared an agricultural disaster earlier this month due to drought is moving forward with plans to host the 'largest #AI computer data centre on Earth,' which could drain millions of litres of water every day from the watershed.

"The watershed is located in #Treaty8 territory and across the #MétisNation of #Alberta Regions 4, 5, and 6. Almost 175,000 people live along the 1,900 kilometers of rivers that flow north into the #NorthwestTerritories. The nearest #FirstNation to the project, #SturgeonLakeCreeNation, wrote an open 'cease and desist' letter to Alberta’s premier saying it learned of the project through the media.

"In response to emailed questions from The Energy Mix, the Municipal District of #Greenview said its approach on the $70-billion #WonderValley data centre project proposed by #CelebrityInvestor #KevinOLeary had not changed despite the unfolding disaster devastating livestock producers in the region.

" 'Every project in the Greenview Industrial Gateway, including Wonder Valley, must go through rigorous environmental and regulatory reviews, including water use approvals managed by the province,' according to an email statement from the municipality. 'Council continues to monitor drought impacts, and any decisions on industrial water use will balance environmental responsibility with economic opportunity.' [I CALL BULLSHIT!]

"Greenview declared the agricultural disaster due to the ongoing drought, aggravated by a #grasshopper invasion. 'We urge all levels of government and the public to understand the gravity of the situation and to support the #agricultural community through this difficult time,' the community said in a media release.

We did a #road and #rail #trip from #Saskatchewan through #Alberta to #BritishColumbia, it was 4,761 km. Or Lisbon to Vienna to Stockholm. #Canada is an amazing country because you can travel to so many amazing #nations and #experience so many #cultures within it.
