Finally. I have a way to "properly" read unmodified Atari paddle controllers from an Arduino.

That was a lot more complicated than I expected it to be.

And arguably it still isn't finished as the code needs optimising to read all four paddles in a useful way that doesn't lock out everything else!

It would be a /lot/ simpler to hack the controllers and just wire the pots across 5V and GND...

@paco I agree with all your points. I’m currently going with “tech hippie” but it’s a work in progress.

I LOVE technology. I like tinkering with #arduino and #electronics and #debian for fun. For me the crux is FOSS and DIY.

I just designed my first STL model for a 3D print. I learned the basics of #freecad to do it. My rationale is that our ideas live inside the SW. if the SW is not free, neither are my ideas. Not sure if that’s a tech “hippie,” hipster,” or “vegetarian.”

University lecturer Sonja Schobesberger will guide girls and young women of any knowledge levels and cultural or educational backgrounds on an exciting two-week journey into the world of electronics.
Designed to be culturally inclusive and gender-sensitive, this hands-on workshop welcomes participants who may have had little or no prior exposure to tech. Whether you're just curious or already a tinkerer, this is a space where everyone can learn, create, and experiment together.
This course in #German, English or #Farsi will take place at the Wissensraum of the ScienceCenter-Network and the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien, including coding, building circuits, and making music with #Arduino boards!
