The #Trump admin is appealing a lower court decision to free #MohsenMahdawi, a permanent #legal resident & an organizer of the pro-Palestinian movement at #Columbia who had been detained at his court appointment for becoming a #US #citizen on April 14. After he was released from federal custody on Wed following the lower court order, Mahdawi offered a defiant message to Trump & his ofcls: “I am saying it clear & loud. I am not afraid of you.”

Homan insisted that the #Trump admin doesn’t “deport US #citizen #children,” emphasizing instead that the mothers may have wanted to take the children w/them when facing #deportation. If someone chooses to come to the US without the proper documentation & have a child, Homan said, “that’s on you, that’s not on this administration.” Having a child in the United States “is not a get-out-of-jail-free card,” he added.

I've been watching the legal "stuff" around #deporting and #kidnapping in the US.

I'm confused;

Isn't there a simple law that says "a #citizen of the #USA may not be forced to leave the country by anyone for any reason at any time."
If this is an important law and elected leader acts above the law then #impeach leader immediately on the first attempt to violate the #law.

show some respect for rule of law.

If there isnt one, why isnt there one being written right now.
