Inspired by @coffeentacos recommending kiki to me (thank you!!), what lesser-known static site generators/website toolkits are you all liking these days?

I'm especially interested in simple/minimal generators with blog support, pleasing defaults, and user-friendly customization, like Quartz, MkDocs + Material for MkDocs, etc. It's pretty common to see Astro or Hugo recommended for just about everything, but I'd really like to learn about some of the interesting smaller projects that are surely out there!

(and for anyone who's curious about kiki: tomo-dashi.itch.io/kiki)

For folks who are using static site generators, but are self-hosting your sites, how are you handling deployment if building automatically? I've got Woodpecker CI building my site automatically.

I know I could use SFTP to push it to my web server... but am wondering if there's a more clever way to do this.

I got inspired by @grumpygamer and re-made my static site using @publii (because, you know, I'm a Designer, not a Programmer 😅). It's here: test.damianvila.com So far, it works as intended and it's going to save me a lot of time if everything goes ok. #staticsitegenerator #staticsite #blog

HyperfixationsHomeWelcome! My name is Damian Vila, and I'm a Graphic Designer (and aspiring Painter) from Madrid, Spain. Here you'll find some of my past and…

I've been on a quest to find the best #StaticSite out there. Enter Static.Quest, static.quest !

This has been a side project of mine for a little while and happy to announce the initial release of Static.Quest. A simple web ring idea to list all the other amazing static websites to highlight the owners, web hosting, and static site generators.

Even have a few resources on how to get started with static sites.

I know you're not looking for advice, but before you abandon #Hugo, you could try using #Pandoc as your MarkdownHandler. Info is in gohugo.io/getting-started/conf
I'm stuck on Hugo v0.122.0 because of things I don't want to deal with YET. Good luck finding a good #SSG

Lately, I’ve been experimenting with creating a very basic system for publishing #CulturalHeritage #Collections based on the #StaticSiteGenerator #Pelican. Think #Wax or #CollectionBuilder, but way less polished. It’s not a product, it’s an exercise in #MinimalComputing and a proof-of-concept. Since it now has a home on GitHub and basic documentation, I thought I could also share it for people to tinker with. #DigitalHumanities
