Age Is Just a Number: Healthy #Aging in Action

In my SPARTA Strength Class at the Malden Senior Center, members aged 65 to 97 are proving that chronological age doesn’t define their mental and physical capacity.

They’re not just redefining #fitness —they’re reclaiming strength, mobility, and joy in movement.

Battle ropes—great for indoor or outdoor training. Low-cost gear, high impact. At Malden’s #Fitness Court, I walk through grip techniques and rope variations you can build on—whether you’re just getting started or leveling up.

At 50 years young, I know: strength is for everyone.

Before the brand, before the coaching—there was ‘Shan.’ I tattooed it in my late 20s, long before Fitness Foundry. ‘Shan’ means mountain.

I wear the mountain because I believe in something bigger.

At the Milano Senior Center in #Melrose, MA, members ages 65–97 are proving that movement builds more than muscle—it builds belonging. This seated battle ropes circuit (side winders!) delivers more than physical power—it’s community in motion.

My SPARTA Strength Class (ages 65–97) at the Malden Senior Center welcomed two summer interns into a full-body experience. These rockstars didn’t just demonstrate—they inspired. From cheers to high-fives, it was age-defying unity in motion.

We’re not just breaking a sweat—we’re breaking stereotypes.

With what #USA spend in health care, their life expectancy shall be 100 years! But it is roughly the same as #China, which spends 10 times less. I wonder if #LuigiMangione knew about this.
